Dating asks for real vulnerability, and the data behind it deserves the same seriousness. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to reach us about it, in plain English. It works alongside our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
Sincera (sinceralove.com) is operated by Rhodium Ventures, LLC, a Georgia (USA) limited liability company. For anything in this policy (questions, requests, concerns), write to hello@sinceralove.com.
2. What we collect
- Your application. First name, email address, gender, date of birth, city, marital history (never married, divorced, or widowed), and whether you have children, plus the timestamp of your attestation that you are not married.
- Assessment answers. Your responses to the compatibility assessment. These are used to compute compatibility and curate who you meet, and they are never shown to other members.
- Identity verification. Verification runs through Stripe Identity (see section 5). We store the verification outcome and your verified legal name; we never receive or store your ID images or selfie.
- Payment records. Payments are processed by Stripe. We keep records of what you paid and when; your card number never touches our servers.
- Messages.Conversations with members you’ve matched and stayed connected with (see section 8).
- Phone number. If you sign in by phone where offered, we collect your number to send one-time sign-in codes (see section 6).
- Couples check-up entries. For the account-free check-up: each partner’s email, first name, and answers, linked by a couple code (see section 9).
- Technical basics. The minimum needed to run and secure the service: requests to our servers, and error reports that are scrubbed of personal details before they leave our systems.
3. What other members see, and never see
Members you’re eligible to meet can see:
- Your first name and age.
- Your distance from them; never your city, address, or location.
- Your declared marital history and children status: shown openly by design, because Sincera is built on transparency.
- Profile content you choose to share, like a photo or bio.
Other members can never see:
- Your legal name; it stays on our servers, full stop.
- Your email address, phone number, or date of birth.
- Your assessment answers; only the curation they inform.
4. How we use your information
- Reviewing your application and verifying your identity.
- Computing compatibility and curating Speed Sessions and Introductions.
- Processing the payments described in the Terms.
- Sending transactional email (sign-in links, match introductions, session details, receipts) and a periodic digest.
- Safety and moderation: acting on reports, enforcing blocks, and keeping misrepresentation out.
- Meeting legal obligations and protecting our rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for third-party advertising.
5. Identity verification and biometric data
Verification is performed by Stripe Identity: you photograph a government-issued ID and take a selfie, and Stripe compares the two. That comparison involves biometric processing, and it happens entirely on Stripe’s systems, governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. Sincera never receives or stores your ID images, your selfie, or any biometric data; we receive the outcome (verified or not) and your verified legal name, which is kept server-side and never shown to other members.
6. Text messages
Where phone sign-in is offered, we send one-time sign-in codes by SMS through Twilio. By providing your phone number you consent to receive these verification texts. They’re sent only when you sign in (we don’t send marketing by text), and message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier. If you no longer want them, sign in by email instead, or contact us.
7. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers that run Sincera, each receiving only what its job requires:
- Stripe: payments and identity verification.
- Supabase: our database and sign-in infrastructure.
- Vercel: web hosting.
- Resend: email delivery.
- Twilio: SMS sign-in codes.
- Zoom and Twine: video sessions and dates (what you share within a session is governed by their policies too).
- Sentry: server-side error monitoring, with personal details scrubbed before reports are sent. No Sentry code runs in your browser.
Beyond that: other members see the limited profile described in section 3; we may disclose information when the law validly requires it; and if Sincera’s ownership ever changes, your information would transfer under the protections of this policy. We don’t share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
8. Your messages
Conversations are private to the two people in them. We don’t read messages as a matter of course, and we never write their contents to logs. Sincera messaging is self-moderated: if a conversation goes wrong, report and block are built in; blocking permanently ends the conversation and hides both members from each other. When you report a conversation, we review it and act on what we find.
9. The couples check-up
The couples check-up works without an account. Each partner’s entry (email, first name, and answers) is linked by a randomly generated, unguessable couple code, which is the only key to the results. When both partners finish, you both receive the same combined report; it never shows which partner gave which answer. Check-up data stays out of the dating side entirely, and you can ask us to delete it at any time (section 11).
10. How long we keep things
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and afterward only as long as the law requires (payment records, for instance, carry legal retention obligations). When you ask us to delete your data, we delete what we’re not required to keep.
11. Your rights and choices
Email hello@sinceralove.com to request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We’ll verify the request is really from you, then respond within the timeframes applicable law requires. For email: you can unsubscribe from the digest and any other non-essential email at any time; transactional messages (sign-in links, receipts, match and session notices) are part of how the service works and stop when your account does.
12. How we protect it
Sincera is built with a server-side-only posture for sensitive data: legal names, contact details, assessment answers, and messages are never rendered publicly and never written to logs. Access is enforced at the database level with row-level security, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and location is reduced to distance before it ever reaches another member. No internet service can promise perfect security, but if a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you as applicable law requires.
13. Age minimum
Sincera’s dating services are for adults 21 and over; the couples check-up is for adults 18 and over. No part of Sincera is directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we delete it.
14. Cookies and tracking, audited
We use only the first-party cookies and browser storage the service needs to work: keeping you signed in, carrying your application through sign-up, and saving check-up progress on your own device. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
We verified this with a code-level audit of the site on July 3, 2026, which we repeat at least annually: Sincera’s own pages run no advertising pixels, no analytics trackers, no session replay, no chat widgets, and no third-party scripts of any kind. Every cookie we set is listed, with its purpose and lifetime, in our Cookie Policy. If we ever want to add a non-essential tracking tool, we will ask for your consent first, via a consent banner, before it runs at all.
15. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you specific rights, and we honor them for everyone, not just Californians. In the language of that law, the categories of personal information we collect are: identifiers (first name, email address, phone number if you use phone sign-in, date of birth, and, from identity verification, your legal name); characteristics such as gender and marital history; commercial information (the payment records described in section 2); approximate location (the city you give us, never precise GPS); internet activity limited to the technical basics of serving the site; sensitive personal information as described below; and the compatibility inferences we draw from your assessment. Section 2 describes each of these in plain English, section 4 describes the purposes, and section 10 describes retention.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done either in the preceding 12 months. Because of that, there is nothing for a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link to switch off, and we don’t have one. We also do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for anything beyond providing the service, so no separate limit-use request is needed.
Sensitive information, only for the service. Your assessment answers and your declared marital history and children status are used for exactly one thing: computing compatibility and operating Sincera. They are never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared for advertising purposes, with anyone.
You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted, and we will never treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. To exercise them, email hello@sinceralove.com as described in section 11; we’ll verify the request is really from you and respond within the timeframes the law requires. You may also use an authorized agent; we’ll verify the agent’s authority before acting.
16. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. For material changes we’ll give members reasonable advance notice by email or on the site.
